35 Air Canada Passengers Injured After Severe Turbulence

Several dozen passengers on an Air Canada flight that originated from Toronto have been injured due to turbulence.
Flight AC33 started at Toronto, and after travelling from Vancouver to Sydney, the flight encountered sudden and severe turbulence on Thursday (July 11) morning leaving 35 passengers with minor injuries.
The passengers reportedly were sleeping when the turbulance jolted them suddenly, with some hitting their heads on the ceiling of the plane cabin.
The flight was diverted to Honolulu’s airport around 6:30 am local time. Medical staff were on the scene to examine the injured passengers.
The plane was a Boeing 777-200 and was carrying 269 passengers and 15 crew at the time.
