5 Must-See Shows Coming To The Rose Theatre This Summer

If you are a fan of the arts or local entertainment, then you are in luck because The Rose Theatre is featuring many great shows this summer.

If you are a fan of the arts or local entertainment, then you are in luck because The Rose Theatre is featuring many great shows this summer. For those of you who may not know, The Rose Theatre is a city-owned theatre located in Downtown Brampton. Since September 2006, it has put on many great shows and events.

To help you choose which event to go to, we created a list of five of the must-see shows at The Rose Theatre this summer.


5. CANADIAN IMPROV SHOWCASE

The Rose Studio II- August 15, 2019, at 8:00 PM

Canadian Improv Showcase boasts amazing unscripted performances. This year the showcase will feature over 700 unique performances including game-style and short-form improvs. The showcase will be a collection of skits that vary in length from 30 seconds to as much as 10 minutes, guided by audience suggestions.

4. GIN BLOSSOMS

Rose Theatre Main Stage- July 23, 2019, at 8:00 PM

The Gin Blossoms is a Grammy-nominated band. Their music is best described as a fusion of melodic rock, pop, folk and country elements that has helped pave the way for the modern rock of today. Their performance will include hits like Until I Fall Away, Found Out About You, Hey Jealousy, Allison Road, Follow you Down and As Long As It Matters.

3. SHARON & BRAM FAREWELL TOUR

The Rose Main Stage- July 21, 2019, at 1:00 PM

Since 1978, Sharon Hampson and Bram Morrison have been pre-eminent in all aspects of family entertainment across North America as members of the trio “Sharon, Lois & Bram”. Together, the threesome produced over twenty recordings, beginning with their iconic One Elephant, Deux Éléphants and have received countless awards, including Gold and Platinum Records, and JUNO awards for Best Children’s Album. To date, they have sold millions of albums worldwide and over 18 million people have viewed the Elephant Show Skinnamarink. Their Brampton stop is their final performance – ever.

2. FLOWER CITY BHANGRA FESTIVAL 2019

Rose Theatre Main Stage- August 10, 2019, at 1:00 PM

Flower City Bhangra showcases live performances, making it the largest live Bhangra competition in North America and the World’s best, largest and leading Bhangra festival. The festival aims to promote cultural values and entertainment through a non-for-profit motive.

1. WHERE YOU ARE

Rose Studio Theatre- July 24-27

Described as one of the brightest new comedic playwrights in all of Canada, Where You Are follows sisters Glenda and Suzanne though retirement. “Besides enjoying sightings of Patrick, the handsome veterinarian who lives next door, they prepare for the visit of Suzanne’s daughter, Beth — a visit complicated by a secret the sisters can no longer contain. When Beth arrives with secrets of her own, they all face things that will change their lives forever. A sparkling new comedy by Kristen Da Silva, filled with laughs and lots of heart,” summarizes The Rose Theatre.
