5 Things to Do In and Around Brampton for the Long Weekend
A trip, decluttering, or are you planning to simply wedge out in front of the TV?
Don't waste your long weekend away. If you've got nothing planned yet, we're here to help.
You can swim, eat around Brampton, explore a neighbouring town or your own city.
5) Visit an attraction
An arcade or a waterpark, whatever your choice may be, Brampton has got both.
If water rides sound like more fun, you don't have to wait until June. Wet ‘n' Wild is open. So get ready to take a dive!
4) Explore the outdoors
Go out with your camera and enjoy some scenic views. Maybe pack a picnic, too. Head down one of the many trails, or explore some of Brampton’s best parks, like Gage Park, which has history written all over it!
Why not try out fishing? Head out to Heart Lake Conservation Area and try your hands fishing in the ponds. Just cast your line and try your luck! Beginners do not need a license and equipment can be rented at the spot.
3) Soak in some history
Nerd out at the Great War Flying Museum, which has replicas of war planes used in World War I, memorabilia related to aviation, dioramas and more. Or roam Bovaird House, a 19th century farmhouse and museum, where you can view 1850s Georgian-style architecture, different exhibits and more.
Don’t forget about Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives where you can check out the first jail in our community and a selection of art and history exhibits (it’s not open on Monday, though).
2) Sample local eats
Sign up for a tour of Brampton's best small eateries with Suresh Doss, CBC's Metro Morning food guide who conducts private tours. Or head into the city and take a food tour of Toronto. Better yet, ditch the guide and explore your own city.
1) Head out of the city
You won't get a better time to take the road trip you've been wanting to. Head out to a small village or town. There are many places you could visit. Perhaps, a wine tour of Niagara or a brewery tour of the GTA is more your style.
