5 Things to do on Valentine’s Day in Brampton

It’s hard to ignore the fact that Valentine’s Day is coming up in Brampton — chocolate, teddy bears and lovey-dovey heart decal displays have taken over retails spaces across the city. Whether you’re a Valentine’s Day lover or hater, one thing is for sure…no one can escape the hype!

For all you hopeless romantics and all of you on team Valentine’s-is-a-Hallmark-holiday, it’s still fun to plan a hot date with your loved one.

Valentine’s Day is on Wednesday, February 14 this year, so here are five ideas for a Valentine’s date in Brampton:

5) Get a couple’s massage

A massage is always a good idea, and around this time of year, spas are offering some pretty sweet deals on Valentine’s packages. You could hit up Purple Rain Spa for the Romeo and Juliet package (60-minute massage, pedicures, manicures, bath soak, champagne, AND chocolate!!!), get a date night Swedish massage and pedicure at Five Senses Spa, or pick one of the Valentine’s specials at Astra Medispa & Salon like the hot stone massage and express facial. Whatever you decide, this is a great Valentine’s date choice for the couple that needs to relax and be pampered.

4) Check out an art exhibit at PAMA or Beaux-Arts

How about a dose of culture and a leisurely stroll for Valentine’s Day? You could grab one last lion chai at T by Daniel or a steamy latte from Steaming Cups and head over to Peel Art Gallery Museum + Archives — all in downtown Brampton — to check out the latest art exhibitions…and find out what Brampton’s old jail looked like. Catch Heather Graham’s latest collection Reminds me of M, high school and college students’ Words to Pictures, Inuit Dolls, and even Black History Month exhibits on the evening of Feb. 14. It’s sure to be an artsy date.

3) Book a special Valentine’s Day dinner

Surprise your boo with a reservation at one of the hottest fine dining restaurants in town for a true Brampton culinary experience! While some might think Valentine’s Day dinner is overdone, it’s actually an intimate experience — you and your date have over an hour to connect over a nice meal. Implement a no phones allowed rule and you’re set! You could book a fancy evening at Aria Bistro & Lounge with a three-course meal and a bottle of wine for $160, a cozy night at Cantina Fellini with their Valentine’s menu, or enjoy live music with your meal at Bucatini. The possibilities are endless…basically.

2) Go skating

Brampton has three outdoor skating rinks — and Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to use one! If you’re looking for a date on a budget, head to Gage Park, Chinguacousy Park, or Mount Pleasant for a cute, budget-friendly evening of ice skating, hopefully some hand holding, and if you’re lucky, a smooch or two. Bear in mind that outdoor skating is open for the season, weather permitting. The City typically tweets when rinks are closed and you can also find that information here, but otherwise, here are the hours for each rink.

1) Get active

For the active and adventurous couple, or the couple just looking to try something new, there are a ton of fun, active things you can plan for a date in Brampton. Sweep your Valentine off their feet at Aerosports Trampoline Park, get lost and find your way out together at Perplexity Escape Games, throw axes on a double date at Stryke Target Range, or shoot each other with lasers at GlowZone 360. You’re bound to have a unique and fun time with your date, and maybe you can grab a casual pizza (or slice or two) afterwards.
