A Brampton Resident is Enjoying a Huge Lottery Win

A Brampton resident is already having a very good weekend!

Ulaganathan (Tyson) Muthucumarasamy is celebrating after winning the $250,000 top prize with Instant Super Money Multiplier.

"I purchased and validated my winning ticket at the same store," Muthucumarasamy told OLG at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. "This location is my favourite. I'm usually free in the evenings so I decided to go to the store and check a few tickets."

Muthucumarasamy scanned his tickets at the ticket checker.

"I won some money with those tickets so I decided to buy an Instant Super Money Multiplier. I scratched it at the store and saw that I won. At first I thought I won $250 but then I saw the other zeros. I couldn't believe it. I looked at the retailer and yelled, 'I won!'"

The shock didn't wear off right away.

"The terminal shut down and I thought I was dreaming. I spoke with OLG and then I went straight home to share the good news with my wife of 13 years. I showed her the validation slip with the amount I won and she began to scream and cry. We stayed up all night, talking about what this means for us and how we will use this windfall. Let's just say I didn't sleep a wink."

As for what Muthucumarasamy plans to do with his winnings, he hopes to purchase some generous gifts for his wife and children and take a much-deserved vacation.

"After paying some bills, I will be treating my wife and daughter to some new jewelry and getting my son the PlayStation he's been waiting for. I came to Canada 16 years ago and I've never been on vacation. I would like to take my family on a trip, possibly France to visit some family. There are so many options and I'd like to first speak with my family. Winning this prize means peace of mind. I was always worried about taking care of my family and now I can relax. This still feels surreal."

Instant Super Money Multiplier is a $10 Instant game that has seven top prizes of $250,000. Overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.87.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mom's Convenience on Torbram Road in Brampton.
