Brampton is indeed a very lucky city.

Brampton is indeed a very lucky city.

OLG recently extended congratulations to Brampton man Randy Calamaya after winning a $250,000 top prize with the new Hit or Miss lottery game (January 28, 2018, Draw #4219).

Calamaya won by having none of the numbers drawn appear on his ticket.

“I have been playing the lottery regularly for about two years,” Calamaya said told OLG at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“I enjoy playing Poker Lotto, Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max and the occasional Instant ticket. I decided to play Hit or Miss because I liked the fact that you could not match any numbers and still win the jackpot.”

After driving his wife to work, Calamaya stopped at the store to check his tickets.

“When I gave my ticket to the retailer to validate, the machine froze and the words ‘Big Winner’ appeared on the screen. I was in shock and very overwhelmed with emotion – I had to ask the retailer for a bottle of water.”

Calamaya told OLG he couldn’t wait to share the news about his big win with his wife of nine years.

“She thought I was joking at first. After insisting that I won the lottery, she finally believed me.”

Calamaya plans on using part of his winnings to invest in a new property and celebrate with a nice meal at a new restaurant with his wife.

“We are overjoyed. I am feeling very excited because of all the possibilities that lay ahead for my wife and I.”

Hit or Miss is a new lottery game where players can win a top prize of $250,000 by matching all or none of the numbers drawn. For the first time, players can watch the draws as they happen on the OLG Lottery App or on OLG.ca.

Hit or Miss is $2 per play and is only available at OLG retail locations.

The winning ticket was purchased at City Convenience on Main Street in Brampton.
