The city is inviting residents to learn, participate, and connect with local sports groups during Brampton’s second annual Sports Day on Saturday, April 6.

From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., residents can drop in and try a wide variety of sports for free at the Brampton Soccer Centre and Cassie Campbell Community Centre.

Sports include gymnastics, softball, baseball, lacrosse, kabaddi, cricket, soccer, track, wheelchair basketball, hockey, swimming, and more.

“Brampton has a rich sports history of fostering outstanding athletes and dedicated sports fans,” says Mayor Patrick Brown.

The programming is provided by the city as well as Brampton’s affiliated youth sports organizations, the Brampton Sport Alliance, and other community sport providers.

If that doesn’t already excite you, the city is also using the event to give away free prizes.

Attendees will receive a special passport that can be stamped for each sport that they try that day, and anyone with three stamps is eligible to enter one of the giveaways for a chance to win.

Prize winners will be notified by phone or email by Friday, April 12.

“Playing sports is a great way to have fun, make friends and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. Sports Day in Brampton encourages young people to explore different options and find a sport they enjoy,” says Mayor Brown.
