Damitra Maharaj of Brampton has won a whopping $275,000. Maharaj is the second person to ever win a top prize on OLG’s The Big Spin Instant game.
Maharaj is a married man and a father of two, and he already has plans for the sum. Maharaj pans to pay off some of his mortgage, contribute to his sons’ education savings, and taking his family on a vacation.
“I haven’t been on a vacation since our honeymoon 13 years ago. We will probably head to Florida to see that world-famous mouse!” said Maharaj.

“I have been playing The Big Spin since day one,” said Maharaj. “I like the game a lot and have won some small prizes. But this time, when I scratched my ticket and saw “Spin” and then saw “Big Spin” after handing it to the retailer, I thought that my ticket needed to be scanned again.”
Maharaj did indeed win big when he spun the Big Spin Wheel at the OLG Prize Centre today!
“My wife knows that I spun the Big Spin Wheel today but I wanted to surprise her at home with the actual dollar amount,” said Maharaj.
The Big Spin Instant is a $5 game with a scratchcard and prizes revealed in-store with an animated spinning wheel. Winners may also have the chance to do an in-person spin at the Wheel at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
