This year, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Brampton will be celebrating Canada Day virtually.

The City is excited to announce that this year’s headliner is JUNO award-winning band, Walk Off The Earth.

The event will take place at www.brampton.ca/canadaday from noon to 10:00 pm on Wednesday, July 1.

The celebration will feature family-friendly activities, Canadian recipes, a list of restaurants offering take out and delivery options and more available online throughout the day.

Additionally, Mayor Patrick Brown and Councillors will be taking Brampton’s Canada Day celebrations on the road.

Members of Council will bring live music, food trucks, and free cookies from local bakeries to each ward pairing on July 1.

These in-person festivities will take place outdoors in Brampton recreation centre parking lots.

Residents are asked to drive and remain in their vehicles to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

From their vehicles, residents can enjoy live music and purchase food through a drive-thru food truck process.

Mayor and Ward Councillors will deliver free cookies to vehicles, while supplies last, wearing masks and gloves.

“Canada Day is Brampton’s biggest event and while we cannot host an in-person celebration at Chinguacousy Park this year, we have created a way to celebrate Canada Day in person with COVID-19 safety measures top of mind,” said Mayor Patrick Brown. “Come say hello on July 1, then head home to celebrate online!”
