Brampton man arrested after recent shooting, one suspect still on the run

Police have made an arrest and are searching for the second suspect after a recent shooting in Brampton.

At 9:30 a.m. on Friday, police were called for a two-vehicle crash in the area of Bovaird Drive East and Main Street North.

“Two males were seen fleeing the accident on foot from a silver vehicle,” police say. “Officers attended the area and identified the silver vehicle as stolen.”

Upon attending the area, police located and arrested one of the fleeing suspects, 20 year old Brampton man Tyson Henry.

A short time later at 10:22 a.m., police got a report of a vehicle with several bullet holes located in the area of Queen Street West and James Potter Road. Investigation revealed that the gunshots had occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. and involved the same stolen vehicle as the fail-to-remain collision, according to police.

Henry is charged with the following offences:

  • Fail to Stop After an Accident.
  • Intentionally Discharge a Firearm Recklessly.
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Restricted Firearm.
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There Was a Firearm.

He is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Saturday, March 14.

Police are continuing to search for the other suspect in this incident, described as a black male in his early 20’s with a slim build, wearing dark clothing with his face covered.
