Brampton man arrested in assault investigation

Officers from 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have made an arrest in relation to two separate assaults in Brampton on two female victims.

Officers from 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have made an arrest in relation to two separate assaults in Brampton on two female victims.

On Sunday, December 22, 2019, at approximately 3:40 p.m., the first incident took place.

A male approached a female in the area of Norton Place Park and Clark Boulevard in Brampton and the female victim was physically assaulted and later transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The second incident took place on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at approximately 7:36 p.m.

A male approached a female in the grocery store parking lot in the area of Peel Centre Drive in Brampton and the female victim was threatened with a knife.

During this incident, a struggle took place, which resulted in the victim sustaining cuts to both hands.

The male suspect fled on foot towards Central Park Drive and Knightsbridge Road and the victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

On Monday, December 30, 2019, Headley Brown, a 48-year-old male from Brampton was arrested for two violent assaults that occurred on Sunday, December 22, 2019.

Brown has been charged with Kidnapping, Sexual Assault, Robbery, Utter Threats x3, Forcible Confinement x2 and Assault with a Weapon x2.

He is scheduled to attend a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
