Brampton Man Arrested in Connection with Drug Trafficking

Niagara Regional Police have arrested and charged a Brampton man in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in St. Catharines.

Police report that officers recently launched an investigation into a man and woman who were suspected of trafficking heroin, cocaine and fentanyl in the downtown core of St. Catharines. The investigation revealed that the pair were living in an apartment on St. Paul Street, and police later executed a search warrant at their residence.

On March 23 at approximately 6:20 p.m., police located and seized a quantity of suspected heroin, cocaine, fentanyl powder, hydromorphone pills and Canadian currency.  

Police arrested and charged 23-year-old Brampton man Jamal Williams and 32-year-old St. Catharines woman Lindsay MacDonald. Williams has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. MacDonald is facing the same charges.

Police say they seized $5,300 worth of drugs and $430 in Canadian Currency.

Williams and MacDonald were held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 23.
