Brampton Man Celebrating Very Big Lotto Win

in

It's official—Brampton is a very lucky city and yet another happy resident is celebrating a huge win.

OLG recently announced that Malcolm Theroulde won $788,769.90 from the June 10 Lottario draw.

According to OLG, Theroulde scanned his own ticket and was pretty sure he had won $788. Upon requesting his winnings, the retailer asked if he could return towards the end of day as the cash flow was low and they would not have enough to pay out his winnings.

Shortly after, the retailer double-checked the ticket and informed Theroulde that he had misread the winning and that the prize was much larger than $788.

"I was frozen and not sure how to react - I was shocked and surprised," he told OLG. "I am a shy guy and not one to jump up and down but this win totally caught me off guard."

Theroulde called his wife immediately to share the good news.

The lucky winner says he has yet to plan anything, but the “possibilities are endless.”

"Winning the lottery means more adventures to come. As a man from the Caribbean, I am intrigued by Brazil and going there to celebrate Carnival would be quite the trip."

Besides that, he told OLG that sharing it with his wife and children and appreciating their good fortune is most important.

LOTTARIO was launched by Ontario Lottery and Gaming in 1978 as Ontario's first on-line terminal lotto game.

The winning ticket was purchased at North Park Variety on Torbram Road in Brampton.
