Brampton Man Charged with Break and Enter in Burlington

A Brampton man is facing charges following a commercial break and enter and stolen vehicle investigation in Burlington, police say.

Halton police say that on Nov. 14, 2018, police responded to simultaneous alarms from Starbucks and Pita Pit (3051 Walkers Line) in Burlington.
Police say that glass doors to both businesses were smashed, suggesting a break and enter. The suspects were no longer present.
Police allege that further investigation revealed that both entries were done at the same time by two separate suspects who targeted cash registers.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., an officer located a suspicious male near a closed restaurant in the Appleby Line and Dundas Street area, police say.
The male was arrested and allegedly found to be in possession of keys to a GMC Savana van, which was located unoccupied behind another plaza in the Appleby Line and Taywood Dr. area.
After further investigation, it was determined that the van had allegedly been stolen from a U-Haul business in Brampton and that the suspect was the same man that allegedly broke into Starbucks.
Police say 35-year-old Brampton man Christopher Michael Hann was held for bail and charged with break & enter, possession of break-in instruments, theft of motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and two counts of breaching probation.
The suspect who allegedly broke into Pita Pit was not located, but police allege he was involved in a subsequent break and enter.
Police say that at approximately 12:37 a.m., officers received a call from a witness who observed a silver or light blue SUV smash into the rear glass doors of Mindy Nail Salon located at 414 Plains Rd. E in Burlington.
Two men were allegedly observed entering the business. Police allege the suspects stole $270 worth of equipment including nail dryers, fingernail fan and files before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.
Suspect #1 (also believed to be involved in the Pita Pit entry) is described as a white male, who is approximately 6′ tall with a medium build. He was seen wearing a light coloured zipped hoodie, black pants, white shoes and thin gloves.
Suspect #2 is described as a white male who is approximately 6′ tall with a medium build. He was seen wearing an orange construction safety style shirt with a fluorescent yellow X pattern on the front and back, black pants, dark shoes, toque and thin gloves.
