Brampton Man Charged with Stealing from Cars

Police have reported that a Brampton man has been charged with theft in the City of Vaughan.

Two men fled after they were spotted by a concerned citizen breaking into cars and stealing valuables in the City of Vaughan.

According to York Regional Police, On Tuesday, May 9 at 4:35 a.m., police were called to a house on Cappella Drive after a concerned citizen saw two men breaking car windows and stealing items from the cars.

Officers located one of the suspects who fled on foot from police. A short time later the suspect was arrested in a backyard of a nearby residence. He was found in possession of tools used to break into vehicles as well as numerous valuables believed to have been stolen from nearby vehicles.

Andre Pendley, 32, of Brampton was charged with possession of break-in instruments, three counts of theft under $5,000, four counts of mischief under $5,000, four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of cannabis.

The second suspect was not located, but investigators are seeking public assistance to identify him. He is described as wearing a hoodie and carrying a backpack.
