Brampton Man Nabbed, Charged With First-Degree Murder

“The investigation is still continuing,” said Peel Regional Police Const. Harinder Sohi.
“It’s not closed by any means.”
The suspect was arrested in Brampton on Wednesday (June 6) in connection with the death of Paviter Singh Bassi, 21, who died in hospital after a March 19 beatdown.
Officers responded to reports of an assault taking place near Sandalwood Parkway East and Cedarcliff Trail.
Police found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Bassi was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre where he later died of his injuries.
Harminder Bassiwill, 24, is charged with first-degree murder. He’s scheduled to appear in Brampton court on June 6 for a bail hearing.
Three other men have already been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in relation to the case.

They’re also from Brampton.
There’s no familial relationship between the victim and any of the accused parties, say police.
