Brampton Men Charged After Stolen Vehicle Crash

Five people have been charged after a car was stolen, reported driving at a ludicrous speed, and crashed in Powassan, Ont.

Five people have been charged after a car was stolen, reported driving at a ludicrous speed, and crashed in Powassan, Ont. Two Brampton man have been charged in connection with the incident. 

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), on February 18, 2018 around 2:28 p.m., officers responded to a complaint about an “erratic vehicle travelling dangerously” on Highway 11 in Powassan. 

The vehicle was located by the OPP going almost 200 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

Shortly after the vehicle failed to stop for officers, it was found on Highway 17 flipped on its roof.

According to police, witnesses said five vehicle occupants had fled the scene.

Officers and K9 located and arrested five suspects. All five suspects were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The OPP says that the vehicle was reported stolen from Toronto earlier that day. 

Tejinder Randhawa, 34, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance x2 
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle 
  • Flight While Pursued by Police Officer
  • Fail to Stop at the Scene of  an Accident 
  • Driving While Disqualified
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order 
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance 

Randhawa was held for bail.

Lovepreet Aulakah, 25, of Brampton, was charged with:

  • Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

Aulakah was held for bail.

Anab Barre, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x2 
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x4 

She was held for bail.

Hardeep Gill, 25, of Caledon, was charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

He was released on a Recognizance of Bail. 

Stephanie Jones, 35, of Cochrane, was charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x2 
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by an Officer in Charge

She was released on an Undertaking Given by a Justice.
