For the first time in nearly three decades, the Brampton Santa Clause Parade will not be happening… sort of.

This year, due to the pandemic, the Brampton Santa Claus Parade Committee has announced this year’s iteration of the Parade will be a special virtual presentation that will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

The Parade is scheduled for November 21—the third Saturday in November—at 5 p.m., the same date and time it would have normally been held.

The event, which first occurred in 1994, has become the largest single-day event in the Region of Peel and the largest nighttime parade in Canada.

This year’s virtual Parade will include footage from past events, as well as some new footage of the city of Brampton.

Additionally, as they do every year, the Canadian Progress Club will be collecting donations for local food banks—those interested in donating can email them for more information.
