Corey Groves, a 17-year-old teen from Brampton’s dying wish is to shake hands with basketball pro, LeBron James.

Groves, who has been given one year to live, is suffering from a rare form of sarcoma cancer that requires highly aggressive chemo and radiation and has a success rate of only 15%.

After being granted a wish from the Children’s Wish Foundation, Groves will be travelling to Los Angeles this month to see a game at the Staples Centre between the Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas Day.

Groves’ Instagram page, which has attracted over 4,700 followers, contains photos that showcase his love for the Lakers and his hero, LeBron James.

Recently, Lakers basketball pro, Jared Dudley, noticed a tweet from someone who was sharing Groves’ story and replied to it asking for his contact information.

Groves is hopeful that he may get to meet and shake his hero’s hand on what may be his last Christmas.

Go Fund Me page has been set up by a family friend, Sherry Williams, to assist with expenses.
