Brampton Woman Charged in Armed Jewelry Store Robbery

Police allege that on Thursday May 28, at 3 p.m., two masked men entered a jewelry store in the area of Dundas Street West and Keele Street in Toronto.

A recent release reads that the men demanded a 69-year-old man and 62-year-old woman get down on the ground and not move.

Police say that the men were armed with hammers. The suspects allegedly smashed the glass display cabinets and removed a large quantity of jewelry.

Then, “the men fled with the property to their rental vehicle which was driven by a woman,” reads the release.

Two men and a woman were subseqently arrested.

“The jewelry has been recovered,” reads the release.

The following charges have been laid:

On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, Theresa Brightly, 27, of Brampton, was arrested. She has been charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
3) Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime

She is scheduled to appear in court on June 28, 2018.

On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, Ryan Green, 33, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
4) Trafficking in property obtained by Crime Over
5) Possession of Proceeds of Crime

He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Scott Joyette, 45, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Robbery
2) Forcible Confinement
3) Possession Property by Crime Over

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
