If you love big summer festivals complete with epic performers, food, and vendors, there’s an event coming to Brampton that you’ll want to gear up for!

It’s one of the top 100 festivals in Ontario – the Jambana One World Festival is moving from Markham to Brampton on Sunday August 5 and Monday August 6, 2018.

Jambana usually takes place at the Markham Fairgrounds, but now, the massive event is moving indoors to The Rose and the CAA Centre in Brampton. This festival is all about reggae, world beat, soca, gospel, dance, and comedy.

What’s happening at the event?

On Sunday August 5, the festivities are happening at The Rose.

The evening will feature a Canadian reggae showcase, with a variety of names in the reggae scene.

You can expect performances by JUNO nominee Kirk Diamond, female reggae band Rayzalution, singer/songwriter Jay Harmony, and more.

Headlining Sunday are big names Govana, and Third World.

On Monday August 6, the festival continues at the CAA Centre (formerly the Powerade Centre).

Govana and Kirk Diamond will return for a second performance, and dancehall artist Eyesus, afropop artist Stonebwoy, and Brampton’s own Exco Levi will also take the stage.

Several other performers are slated to entertain the crowd, too.

On Monday you can also expect a food village, featuring the flavours of the Caribbean, so bring your appetite!

This is Jambana’s 10th year running, so it’s set to be a big show.

It’s important to note that tickets start at $35, and they’re being sold online and at certain vendors.
