Soccer players, soccer fans, runners, and sports- or fitness-lovers in general will soon have a brand new state-of-the-art soccer facility to check out in Brampton.

The new facility at Heart Lake Secondary School, located at 296 Conestoga Drive, will feature premium artificial turf and a running track.

Not only is the new facility massive, the $1.7 million outdoor sports field and running track features Revolution 360 turf, the same premium turf chosen for many NFL and MLS team stadiums including the New England Patriots, Seattle Sounders and Atlanta Falcons, by Fieldturf’s.

Further, the full-sized sports field is equipped with a removable divider net system to sub-divide it into four smaller, 60 metre x 30 metre, 7v7 soccer fields.

Further, the entire field will be marked for soccer, rugby, and lacrosse.

The new facility was built under an agreement between Footy Sevens soccer leagues and the Peel District School Board (PDSB).

During the school day, Heart Lake Secondary School and PDSB will have exclusive use of the field and track facilities.

As for evenings and weekends, Footy Sevens will be organising adult recreational 7v7 soccer leagues as well as their Footy For All children’s soccer programs on the field.

Footy Sevens will be hosting a charity soccer game on the field at the end of August, where proceeds will go to cancer treatment in Brampton.

You can still check out the field when it’s not in use by PDSB or Footy Sevens, and the fields will be available for rental by other sports organizations and community groups.

While an official date has not been noted, the facility is set to open next week.
