TORONTO — Ontario reported 151 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 1,144.

The Ministry of Health says the number of deaths remains at 18 with eight cases fully resolved.

It says over 8,000 investigations into the virus are still pending, which is down from the more-than 10,000 pending cases on Friday.

Premier Doug Ford says he is looking to limit gatherings to no more than five people.

The province is currently limiting gatherings to 50 people.

Ford also says corporations involved in price gouging amidst the COVID-19 crisis will face steep fines and possible jail time.
