It’s true – producers love Brampton. Our stunning backdrops and scenery are useful for more than just selfies for the ‘gram.
There have been a high volume of movies and TV shows filmed in Brampton over the years, dating back to around the 80s, and likely even before that. We know that Brampton is full of history, after all. 
With all of the things filmed here, you’ll have enough material for a Brampton-themed movie night, or fun facts to spew at your holiday party. And the next time you’re watching any of these, try to spot the bits of Brampton in them!
Here are a few movies and TV shows that were filmed in Brampton: 

Alias Grace (2017)
An award-winning novel-turned-TV-miniseries and CBC and Netflix original that first aired from September to October 2017, starring Sarah Gadon, Edward Holcroft, Anna Paquin, and Kerr Logan. You’ll find PAMA in the background of parts of the series.

Killjoys (2015)

This TV show airs on Space Channel – it’s a space adventure series about bounty hunters! Brampton shows up in episode 204. More specifically, City Hall Council Chambers, Conservatory, North Entrance and West Tower. Killjoys stars Brampton-raised Aaron Ashmore, Hannah John-Kamen and Luke MacFarlane. 

A Map of the World (1999)
This 1999 Sigourney Weaver and Julianne Moore drama was also shot at PAMA! In the film, a mob waits on the courthouse steps for the verdict of Sigourney Weaver’s character Alice Goodwin, whose trial is underway in the courtroom. The film has a solid 3.5/4 rating on Rogert Ebert.

Orphan Black (2013)

Orphan Black is a very popular show starring Tatiana Maslany that was partially filmed in Brampton back in 2015. It also airs on Space Channel. Whereabouts in Brampton was it filmed? Well, parts of episodes 307 and 310 were shot at David Suzuki Secondary School and Mount Pleasant Village including Mount Pleasant Community Centre and Square and street facing business on Sidford Road.

Heroes: Reborn (2015) 

Episode 112 of this popular miniseries that airs on Global and NBC starring Zach Levi, Danika Yarosh and Judith Shekoni was actually shot at Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary School.

To Die For (1995)
The courthouse at PAMA is a popular location for filming. This 1995 Nicole Kidman, Matt Dillon, Casey Affleck, and Joaquin Phoenix comedy-drama also featured the courthouse, and a location featured in our cover photo.

Man Seeking Woman (2015) 

This entertaining comedy series shot four episodes – 201, 207, 209, and 210 – right here in Brampton! The Jay Baruchel-starrer used Gore Meadows Community Centre (fitness area and boardroom) and a private residence on Creditview Road.

Some Honourable Gentleman (1984)
The “Passion of the Patriots” episode of Some Honourable Gentleman was also filmed at PAMA. The show focuses on  James Whelan, the accused assassin of Thomas D’Arcy McGee. 

Special Correspondants (2015)

This feature film was released on Netflix in 2016, and they filmed parts of it at Claireville Conservation Area. The film stars such celebs as Ricky Gervais, Eric Bana, Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald, and America Ferrera.
