With Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival AKA “Caribana” around the corner, the Browntown Girls present SOCA QUEENDOM: a female-centred, beginner-friendly dance class and art event in Brampton!

The Browntown Girls (BTG) is a digital and IRL platform that supports and showcases female artists who identify with Brown skin. Through events and partnerships, BTG celebrates the intersection of art, identity, and sisterhood in Brampton.

The dance class will be instructed by Cheyenne Gold and there will be local artist displays, giveaways, and a brief networking period for all attendees.

  • Dress to SWEAT & wear your most comfortable dancing shoes
  • Charge your PHONE to document the evening!
  • Bring your business cards if applicable
  • Note: we will be filming/taking photos throughout the event for social media purposes

***Tickets will also be sold at the door ($15 - CASH only). If purchasing at the door, please arrive 10 minutes EARLY to register as class will begin at 8:00pm sharp!

What are my parking options for this venue?

There are parking spaces around the building (facing Airport Road), but limited spots available - do arrive early to secure a parking spot!

Is there any dance experience required?

Not at all! This is a beginner-level class, so come as you are and although the event is intended to support a women-identified audience, everyone is welcome.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope! Once you purchase a ticket through eventbrite we will have your name on a list at the door and you can show your email confirmation/mobile ticket to confirm.
