Five people have been arrested and charged following a recent carjacking in Brampton.

Around 2:50 a.m. on Friday, July 17, police say two men met in the area of Olivia Marie Road and Messina Avenue to conduct a sale of some high-end sneakers.

After the sale, one of the men placed all of the merchandise in the trunk of his 2019 Mercedes Benz GLC SUV.

“At approximately 2:58 a.m., a grey sedan pulled up in front of the residence, two male suspects exited the vehicle and pointed guns at the heads of the men who had just completed their sale,” said police.

“The suspects demanded the keys to the Mercedes, which had the shoes in the trunk.”

The victim complied and both vehicles fled the scene. The victims then contacted police.

Police say the victim’s vehicle was later located in the area of Horizon Drive and Farrah Road in London, Ontario.

With assistance from the London Police Service, investigators executed a search warrant and arrested three men.

Investigators also recovered the stolen vehicle, a large portion of the stolen property, and an imitation firearm.

Three London men — 18 year old Illia Ayo, 20 year old Stephan Ayo, and 20 year old Jahvahn George — were charged with Robbery, Imitation Firearm-Use While Committing Offence, and Disguise with Intent.

21 year old London man Madout Lual was also charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

21 year old London woman Emma O’Connor was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

All of the accused except for O’Connor, who has a court date in September, were transported to Peel Region to attend court on Saturday, July 18.
