Four men arrested in relation to murder in Brampton

In the early hours of the morning of August 2, 63-year-old Glensbert Oliver and his son Christopher Oliver witnessed a group of five men attempting to break into a car. Glensbert and Christopher confronted the suspects, and an altercation ensued; Both Oliver men were stabbed during the confrontation.
All five suspects fled the area immediately after the confrontation in a dark-coloured Lexus RX 350—a vehicle stolen from York Region.
Glensbert’s injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

On October 3, four men from Toronto were arrested in connection to Oliver’s murder. All four men are teenagers—two are 18, one is 17, and one is 16. Because of their age, police cannot release information related to their identities at this time.
So far, only the 16-year-old has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
In a press conference on October 4, Acting Investigator Michael Pulley urged people who witness a crime in progress to ensure they are safe above all else, and not to respond in a way in which they could potentially put themselves in danger.
“It’s not worth it to approach somebody [in the process of committing a crime]; we have to remember that property can always be replaced, but people can’t,” Pulley said.
Police are still searching for the fifth suspect, they are asking him to turn himself in to PRP custody; anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205.
