Peel police say that on Monday, May 27, 2019, officers were called to the scene of a crash after a vehicle collided with a tree in the Queen Street and Rutherford Road area around 3:00 a.m.

Police say the driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and a loaded handgun was located during a search.

Police say Damion Sinclair, 36, was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of firearm and more.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear in court on May 28, 2019.
