Heavy Police Presence After Child Spotted with Weapon in Brampton

Police are on scene following reports that a child was seen walking with a weapon in Brampton.

Peel police say there’s a heavy police presence in the area of Williams Parkway and Mackay following reports of an 11-year-old female walking around with a weapon.

No injuries have been reported.

Police say no threats have been made.

A call regarding the incident was received 12:34 pm.

Williams Parkway SPS, Judith Nyman SS and Hilldale PES.

Residents are asked to avoid the area.

UPDATE: 

Police say the weapon was a cap gun that has been ecovered by officers. No injuries have been reported.

The hold and secures have been lifted.
