Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) says a flood outlook is in effect for Brampton.

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) says a flood outlook is in effect for Brampton.

Credit Valley Conservation is advising that the Surface Water Monitoring Centre of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is forecasting 20 to 40 mm of rain today (April 29) and tomorrow.

Although water levels and flows across the Credit River watershed are in the seasonal range, the heavy rain could generate high runoff along all watercourses in the area.

Some minor flooding may occur in low-lying areas along the Credit River and its major tributaries.

As a result, local streams, rivers, and shorelines could become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, bridges and dams.

The public should be warned to stay away from all watercourses, especially children and pets.

CVC will continue to closely monitor weather and water levels in the watershed.

The Watershed Conditions Statement for Flood Outlook will be in effect through Friday, May 1, 2020, or until further notice.
