February isn’t everyone’s favourite month because of the cold and snow that often accompanies it, but the shortest month of the year has a few things going for–namely Valentine’s Day and Family Day.

One new tradition that a lot of Mississauga residents are embracing? Spending the Family Day long weekend shopping, eating, and socializing with friends and, of course, family at Square One Shopping Centre

This year, Family Day falls on Monday, Feb. 17 and it will cap off the Valentine’s Day weekend. Fortunately for those who need a last-minute gift (or who just want to escape the cold), Square One will be open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Family Day (and will be open regular hours on Saturday and Sunday).

While Square One has absolutely everything you need–it is home to such stores as Holt Renfrew, Simons, Uniqlo, Indigo, The Dr. Seuss Experience and more, after all–you might be a little worried about finding the perfect parking spot.

Fortunately for shoppers, finding a great parking spot has never been easier. Square One’s interactive parking map shows all 10 access points into the shopping centre as well as real-time parking availability.

Square One launched the interactive, mobile-friendly real-time parking map–which points shoppers to the least congested lots the shopping centre has to offer at any given time–in 2016.

So, how does it work?

Simply select a parking lot for specific directions from your location using your device’s maps app. If you take a look at the map on your PC or phone, you can see which lots are 39 per cent or less full (green), 40-79 per cent full (yellow) and 80-100 per cent full (red).

Square One boasts 10 entrances and eight different lots, so the map will help you find the best spot at any given time.

If you don’t want to park your own vehicle (or you just want to feel extra fabulous), you can use the shopping centre’s valet system. Valet service is available in the north section near Entrance 7 (every day curbside service), in the south end at Entrance 3 and in the P4 climate-controlled parking garage.

Once you park your vehicle, you can peruse Square One’s vast selection of affordable and high-end stores and enjoy a great meal in The Food District (or another one of the centre’s many delicious sit-down and takeout restaurants). You can also end the night at The Rec Room, the massive Cineplex entertainment centre that boasts food, games, an interactive VR experience, axe throwing and more.

No matter what you’re looking for, Square One has you covered this Family Day long weekend.

And now, you won’t have any trouble finding parking!
