If you’re a charity or community group in Brampton that is looking for some extra help, you’re in luck.

The City of Brampton offers financial support to local community organizations through the 2019 Community Grant program, which is for Brampton-based, not-for-profit organizations and registered charities who fall under the program’s funding streams.

Those funding streams are as follows:

  • Festivals and Events

  • Arts and Culture Programs, Projects and Capacity Building

  • Recreation and Active Living

  • Sport Tourism Hosting

  • Neighbourhood Initiatives: the Neighbourhood Initiatives application window opens January 3, 2019. Applications will be reviewed at the end of each month until the end of the calendar year or until all funds have been awarded.

If you’re interested in applying for such a grant, there are information sessions scheduled at local recreation centres throughout Brampton from December 17 to January 24, 2019.

And if you need help writing up a grant, the city will also host two workshops to help local organizations develop their grant-writing skills and learn more about how to secure funding, but spacing is limited so register early.

  • Secrets to Securing Sponsorship with Jason Maghanov
January 7, 2019 at 6-9 pm, Brampton Library, Cyril Clark branch at 20 Loafers Lake Lane.

  • Grantsmanship 101 with Diane Davy
January 12, 2019 at 10 am-1 pm, City Hall West Tower at 55 George Street South.

Applicants are invited to apply for funding before January 31. Recommendations for funding approval will be brought to City Council in late February.
