Hot weather advisory in effect for Brampton

Believe it or not, a heat warning is in effect for Halton, Peel and Hamilton (Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Halton Hills, and Hamilton).

Environment Canada says residents can expect hot weather today through Wednesday.

The weather agency says high daytime temperatures near 30 are expected this afternoon (May 25), with even higher temperatures expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Humidex values in the mid to upper thirties are also expected, although it might be cooler near the lake.

Environment Canada is advising people to drink plenty of water, stay in cool places and never leave children or pets unattended in parked vehicles.
