House Fire Breaks out in Brampton

Emergency crews are on scene at a house fire in Brampton on Friday morning.

“It doesn’t look like there was anyone in it” at the time, said Peel Regional Police Const. Mark Fischer.

Crews were dispatched at 5:41 a.m. to 5 Hallen Rd., near McLaughlin Rd. S., north of Steeles.

The blaze appears to have started in the garage in a home which is being renovated.

Nearby homes were evacuated.

No injuries have been reported.

The fire was under control by 7 a.m., with crews checking for hotspots.

There’s no word yet on damage estimates. The cause is under investigation.
