With summer just around the corner, many Bramptonians are excited to spend time outside and in the sun. If you love being outside, there is an event returning to the city you might be excited about.

Brampton’s blue skies are about to get a lot more colourful.

KiteFest Canada is happening on Saturday June 9 and Sunday June 10 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on both days this year!

The huge event is taking place at the Brampton Fairgrounds on Heart Lake Road on the Brampton-Caledon border, promising a fun day for families to enjoy outside with their kites and lots of colours filling the sky.

So get your kite ready.

Anyone can bring their own kite to fly, or you can purchase a premium kite, or decorate a kite at the festival. This year will also boast professional kite fliers doing choreographed shows.

While kite-flying might be the highlight of the event, the festival has even more to offer visitors.

What else can you expect?

An abundance of food, for one.

Lots of entertainment, as well.

Vendors will also line the fairgounds for attendees to peruse.

Kite-flying is a great way to enjoy being outside in the summer, and flying them in a large group often makes the experience even more fun.

This is Brampton’s fourth annual Kitefest. Previous years have seen great success, with many families in attendance.

Admission is free, so everyone is invited to bring their friends and family along to enjoy the festivities.
