Incredible Fall Weather Forecasted for Brampton
Hold on to your pumpkin spice lattes, Brampton, because a hotter than usual fall is coming to our city.
Blanket scarves, pumpkin everything, fall colours galore, and a slight chill in the air are oh-so-enjoyable every fall, but this summer has us wishing for warmer temperatures. Did we really even have a summer?
According to a recent CBC article, Ontario has only seen nine days this summer where temperatures have gone above and beyond the 30 degree mark.
Summer 2016 was a very different summer in comparison. Last year, Ontario saw a grand total of 36 days of temperatures well above 30 degrees. That’s four times the hot weather we’ve seen this year!
This year, our summer has consisted of too much rain, a roller coaster of temperatures, the odd tornado warning, and, on rare occassion, a visit from Mr. Sun.
As you likely noticed, the past day or two have been quite chilly as well.
Not to worry - fall 2017 might make up for summer 2017 in terms of nice weather.
Senior climatologist with Environment Canada, Dave Phillips says that we’ll see warmer than average temperatures from now until early October.
What makes this weather forecast so incredible, you ask?
Historical averages on The Weather Network say that normal temperatures from now until early October range from a low of 14 degrees to a high of 24 degrees. According to Phillips, temperatures will at least be “a little warmer” than usual.
Let’s face it, this unpredictable weather has been miserable. You basically have to carry an umbrella, a sweater or two, and a tank top on you at all times, because you never know what the day’s weather will bring.
Storms have plagued us all summer, but the storms have given us at least one exciting outcome. Some stunning fall colours are coming with the warmer than average temperatures, and it’s all thanks to the rain.
Phillips says that the trees will have benefitted from the rain, which will bring us some vibrant fall colours.
