A collision has prompted a road closure in Brampton in the very early hours of Sunday morning.

A collision has prompted a road closure in Brampton in the very early hours of Sunday morning.

Police say they received a call at 12:20 a.m. for a female pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Gore Road and Queen Street.

The female pedestrian suffered life threatening injuries and has been transported to the trauma centre.

The vehicle did not remained at the scene.

The intersection is shut down until further notice. Eastbound lanes closed on Queen Street.

Residents should avoid the area.
