A collision has prompted a road closure in Brampton this afternoon.

Police say they received a call at 3:45 p.m. for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Mcvean Drive and Lexington Road.

A female child has been taken to a trauma centre with currently unknown injuries, police report.

The vehicle remained at the scene.

The intersection is being shut down until further notice. Residents should avoid the area.
