Everyone is getting in on Canada 150 and decorative beverages because both are, well, pretty fun.

With summer creeping ever closer (yay!) and Canada’s milestone birthday on the horizon, Absolut Vodka is marking the occasion with its limited edition Absolut Canada bottle.

The patriotic bottles will probably make for a sentimental little collector’s item on your liquor shelf (or perhaps become the patriotic centerpiece of your impressive liquor cellar/cave if you’re really fancy) and their introduction follows hot on the heels of the release of the whimsical changing Coors Light been cans.

Calling it “a tribute to 150 years of forward thinking,” Absolut says the bottle was designed in conjunction with Canadian textile artist Elizabeth (Libs) Elliott, known for her work with a custom computer program to design quilt patterns and laser cutting tolls to “create futuristic home textiles.”

According to Absolut, the bottle artwork uses a traditional quilt block Maple Leaf design and a “modernized” Canadian colour palette.

“Absolut is known globally for its limited edition bottles – everything from cities, to countries, to celebrating Pride or Andy Warhol, so we’re thrilled to bring a Canada-specific version to market at a time when celebrating our country will be at an all-time high,” says Vanessa Clarke, Senior Brand Manager at Corby Spirit and Wine. “Much like Canada, Absolut has a long history of inclusion and innovation, so we’re excited to have a bottle that is uniquely ours to reflect those synergies.”

The bottles will available across Canada starting this month.
