If you’ve been looking for a new way to stream, you’re in luck – music, shows, and more are available since this major media company dropped a new service recently.

Look out Spotify, Apple Music, and Netflix – media giant YouTube has officially launched a unique premium streaming service that includes music and original content.

The new service is called YouTube Premium, and it’s officially available across Canada as of June 18, 2018.

What can you expect to stream?

Music and shows, mainly.

The service was formerly known as YouTube Red, but now there are a ton of new aspects included.

YouTube Premium offers ad-free and offline YouTube streaming, a music streaming service without interruptions, and new original series and movies from YouTubers.

You can even download content to go when you’re low on data or can’t get online.

And if you’ve ever been annoyed when you can’t listen to a song on YouTube and open another app at the same time, YouTube Premium promises that will no longer happen.

That’s right – perhaps one of the coolest features is that you can listen to your music or shows on YouTube without the app stopping every time you need to text someone.

YouTube Premium ultimately includes YouTube, YouTube Music, YouTube Originals, YouTube Gaming, YouTube Kids, and Google Play Music in one neat package for $11.99 a month.

If you’re just looking for YouTube Music (music on YouTube without any pesky interruptions) you can get it for $9.99 a month.

It’s exciting when a new streaming service pops up – especially from such a major player in the streaming scene – but how YouTube Premium stacks up against other streaming services remains to be seen.

For anyone looking to try it out, you can get three months of YouTube Premium for free.
