Although New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest nights of the year in Brampton, it comes with some necessary inconveniences (which are, of course, more than worth it).

Tonight, some roads will be closed due to celebrations. If you plan on hitting the city’s grand Garden Square celebration, you should remember that not all routes will be accessible and plan your travels accordingly. If you don’t want to drive, note that Brampton Transit is offering free service in the evening and into the early hours of Jan. 1.
Here are some road closures to be aware of:
- Main Street North from Nelson Street West to Wellington Street from December 31, 2016 at 6:00 pm to January 1, 2017 at 1:00 am.
- A road closure will be in effect on Queen Street from Theatre Lane to George Street from December 31, 2016 at 6:00 pm to January 1, 2017 at 1:00 am.
- A road closure will be in effect on Wellington Street West from Main Street South to George Street from December 31, 2016 at 5:00 pm to January 1, 2017 at 1:00 am.
