Halloween may be over, but it looks like that familiar holiday spirit is in the air. And one of Brampton’s annual traditions is just around the corner.

To kick off the Christmas season, the annual tree lighting ceremony will take place in downtown Brampton on Friday November 16, between 6 pm to 8 pm.

Presented by Northwest Lexus, the event will feature a number of performances featuring musical acts, LED Drumline, glow dancers and interactive glow performances.

The official tree lighting will begin at 7 pm, with the finale performance at 8 pm.

Inside the City Hall Atrium, it will be transformed into a ‘winter wonderland’ featuring free family activities such as letters to Santa, free book and apple cider giveaways, laser cut ornament giveaways, Holiday Market Vendors.

There will also be various food vendors, and the Northwest Lexus booth will be handing out free hot chocolate.

Help support the Brampton Food Drive and Peel Regional Police Toys for Tots campaigns by dropping off a non-perishable food item and/or unwrapped toy at the main entrance of City Hall.

Because of the ceremony and various events, there will be road closures at Wellington Street West from George Street to Main Street South from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Are you ready for Christmas?
