Male taken to trauma centre after shooting in Brampton

Officers are investigating a shooting in Brampton this evening.

Police were called at 5:20 p.m. for the incident, which took place in the area of Queen Street and Finchgate Boulevard.

A male victim was shot and has been taken to a trauma centre with currently unknown injuries.

Police say he remains conscious.

The suspect was last seen in a blue pick-up truck going eastbound on Queen Street from Finchgate.

Finchgate’s northbound lanes are currently closed just south of Queen.

UPDATE: Police say the suspect vehicle was in fact not the blue pick-up truck but a red sedan.
