Whether or not you’re ready for the 2017 holiday season, (we know, Halloween hasn’t even hit yet!) Brampton’s tree lighting is a classic, and a date has been set for this year’s massive ceremony!

Mark your calendars, Brampton, because our massive Christmas tree in Ken Whillans Square will be lit on Friday, November 17, 2017. The entire ceremony is slotted for 6-8 p.m. in downtown Brampton.

Here’s a fun fact: Brampton’s Christmas tree is a spruce that stands at 60 feet tall.

According to the City, a whopping estimated 10,000 people showed up for Brampton’s tree lighting in 2016!

In fact, the tree lighting is one of Brampton’s biggest events. It’s so big that it made the Festivals and Events Ontario Top 100 List alongside CELEBrampton, Brampton Canada Day Celebrations, the Jambana One World Festival.

Last year, Brampton residents and visitors who came out to the tree lighting also enjoyed live entertainment and family-friendly activities.

This year, the tree lighting will run tandem to Brampton’s huge, annual Christmas market, too.

Brampton’s Christmas Market 2017 is coming back to downtown Brampton for its sixth year on Friday, November 17 from 4-10 p.m., Saturday, November 18 from 12-9 p.m. (the Santa Claus Parade starts at 5 p.m., too), and Sunday, November 19 from 12-6 p.m.

It’s bound to be a spectacular holiday season here in Brampton – and you can stay tuned to inbrampton.com for details as they arise!
