With summer events kicking off left, right, and centre, a huge annual event in Brampton is making a grand return this month!

On Saturday, June 10, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Brampton officially kicks off summer with CeleBrampton, its annual event recently recognized as a Top 100 Festival and Event in Ontario.

“CeleBrampton is an extraordinary annual event for our city when our downtown comes alive with free fun and games for all ages,” said Mayor Linda Jeffrey “With many new attractions added to this year’s CeleBrampton, I invite you to bring your family and friends to explore our downtown and be entertained by great music, enjoy global flavours and local cuisine, and learn about how our city is growing into an exciting urban centre.”

This year, CeleBrampton will focus on Brampton’s growth and diversity. The event will carry on the tradition of providing all-day, non-stop fun for attendees, complete with activities, food, culture, heritage and arts.

From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., CeleBrampton features Family & Fun and Community & Heritage activities.

In terms of Family & Fun, Gage Park, Wellington Street West and Main Street South will come alive with free fun and games for all ages, including a lumberjack show, tree-climbing demos, Bike Fest, and Meet the Fleet.

In terms of Community & Heritage activities, Queen Street West, Ken Whillans Square, Daily Times Square, Alderlea and PAMA will host the City’s local partners who will offer free fun activities, while showcasing exciting programs and venues.

The event is also packed with food vendors, cooking demos, and live entertainment.

The Food & Drink events run from 11 a.m.-9 p.m., wherein Main Street North will feature global flavours and local cuisine. There will be cooking demos and more than 15 food vendors serving tapas-style dishes.

The Rose Theatre Patio will also be open and offering local selections for purchase from 1:30 to 9 p.m..

Moreover, in partnership with United Way of Peel Region, the City of Brampton will be collecting non-perishable food items to support local food bank Knights Table.

Donations can be dropped off to Policaro’s Rose Theatre Van at Meet the Fleet on Wellington Street West.

Finally, the Culture & Entertainment events will showcase world music on the main stage in Garden Square, sponsored by TD and Policaro Auto Group.

Also, the Garden Square festivities on the main stage will be hosted by Khaled Iwamura of inbrampton.com and he’ll be throwing some swag out to the audience.

Headliners include The Jerry Cans, Brampton’s own Unbuttoned, Exco Levi, the high-energy sounds of Casava, and a Beauty and the Beast show.

On Queen Street East, a community table more than 100 feet long will be presented by The Real Canadian Superstore.

As per tradition, residents can ride transit for a loonie on June 10, or take advantage of free parking at all downtown parking facilities.

CeleBrampton is the kick-off not only to summer, but to some of Brampton’s best summer events, like the farmers’ market, the Mount Pleasant Village Market, Garden Square’s Summer Season, Brampton Celebrates Canada 150, and the Rose Theatre’s summer season.
