Peel Regional Police have made arrests involving a string of shootings that took place in 2018 and 2019.

From the beginning of January 2018 and leading up to February 2019, police say a total of seven shootings took place around Hurontario Street and Elia Avenue in Mississauga.

Throughout these incidents, three out of seven victims were struck by bullets while the other four were not injured.

According to Peel police, while these incidents, including the three attempted murder incidents, were being investigated, they not only impacted the victims but the whole community as “they were all left in a state of fear.”

Since then, there have not been any further shooting incidents in the area and the suspects have been both identified and charged for the most serious incidents.

On September 26, 2019, a male from Brampton, 23, was charged with attempted murder for an incident that took place on February 3, 2019.

A 22-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman from Brampton were also charged with accessory after the fact of attempted murder.

On October 3, 2019, a man from Waterloo, 21, was charged with two counts of attempted murder in relation to incidents that took place on February 5, 2019, and on January 22, 2018.

More than 16 criminal code charges were also issued against seven other individuals.

Police say they are still investigating the remaining incidents.

Anyone who has been involved is urged to surrender themselves and seek legal counsel at a police facility immediately.

Anyone with any information is asked to call investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at (905) 453-2121, extension 1233.
