Calling all parents in Brampton! There’s a new school celebrating its official opening soon.
Dolson Public School will celebrate its first school year in its new building with an official opening ceremony on June 6 at 4:30 p.m.
The event will include an open house, outdoor activities, and student performances and artwork. There will also be an appearance by Tom Dolson, a member of the Dolson family.
“Since opening our doors, we have had tremendous support from families and community members,” said Shawn Sabourin, the principal at Dolson. “This is our way to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to contribute to a successful first year in our new building.”
The event will start 4:30 pm, and will feature an open house, bouncy castles, games and activities, student art displays, photos with the school’s house team mascots, view the Dolson Time Capsule Bench, and food and drinks for purchase.
“We are so pleased to celebrate Dolson Public School’s official opening,” said Peter Joshua, the director of education. “The school is already filled with memories that students, staff and families will cherish forever. I look forward to all of the ways the Dolson community will continue to inspire.”
At 6:30 pm the grand opening ceremony will kick off, including a ribbon cutting with special guests and student performers from the school band, primary and French choir, and Bollywood dance team.
Funding for the school was provided by the Ministry of Education.
“Congratulations to the students, staff and parents on a great first school year in your new building, and on the official opening celebration of Dolson Public School," said Lisa Thompson, the Minister of Education. "This school is an important addition to the City of Brampton, and I look forward to watching this school community continue to grow and thrive.”
