Officers Investigating Possible Link Between Two Homicides in Brampton

The investigation is ongoing into two fatal shootings that took place earlier today (September 2) in Brampton.

The first incident happened at approximately 12:43 a.m. in the area of Vodden Street East, west of Kennedy.

Officers arrived on scene and located two victims, one male and one female, suffering from obvious signs of trauma.

Both victims were taken to hospital, where the male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. He is identified as 27 year old Clifford Correia from Brampton.

The second incident happened at approximately 6:34 a.m. in the area of Townley Crescent and Sunforest Drive, west of Hurontario at Sandalwood.

Officers located a male victim suffering from obvious signs of trauma.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He is identified as 33 year old Georgetown resident Derrick McKeown.

These incidents are reported as the 19th and 20th homicide of the year in Peel.

Police believe these were targeted incidents and that they appear to be related to one another.

The Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau is leading both investigations.
