Ontario is reporting a total of 837 cases of confirmed COVID-19 in the province as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday (March 26).
That is a total of 149 newly confirmed cases since Wednesday.

While the location of some cases is still yet to be determined, there are 15 newly confirmed cases in the Region of Peel.

According to Peel Public Health’s COVID-19 website (which was updated at 10:00 am on March 26), 75 people have been diagnosed in the region. There are currently 28 cases in Brampton, five in Caledon and 40 in Mississauga.

The province’s website indicates that some of the new cases in Peel include people who have been in close contact with patients and people who have travelled. The cause of many cases is listed as pending.

One of the newly listed cases indicates that a woman in her 70s from Peel is hospitalized while others are listed as self-isolating.

There is evidence of community spread throughout the region.

Residents are reminded to wash their hands frequently and stay home unless it is not possible to do so.
