PHOTOS: Jagmeet Singh is Officially Married
The wedding bells have rung for current federal NDP leader and former Brampton MPP Jagmeet Singh and popular designer and co-founder of her own clothing line Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu!
The 39-year-old Singh and 27-year-old Sidhu tied the knot in Mexico on Thursday surrounded by friends and family.
Several friends and family members were all over the big event, sharing the festivities on social media, namely through Instagram stories.

The classic and stunning ceremony was followed by what can only be classified as a big fat Punjabi wedding reception, complete with singing, dancing, and entertainment.
The couple shared a slow dance to Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose” followed by an upbeat dance to Elvis Crispo’s “Suavemente.”

Popular names like musician Jazzy B, rapper Fateh, and artist Babbulicious were in attendance, too.
While Singh’s private life was pretty quiet during his federal leadership campaign, in December 2017, Singh and Sidhu celebrated their rokha, which is basically a traditional Punjabi pre-engagement ceremony where parents and close family meet and gifts are exchanged. A rokha also means the pair is officially taken…by one another!
The pair previously announced that they would tie the knot with a first wedding ceremony — known in Punjabi tradition as a Kirtan — on Sunday, February 4, 2018 right here in Brampton. The ceremony was set to “involve a large gathering of friends, family, neighbours and well-wishers.” They would then travel to Mexico on Monday, February 19, 2018 for a private ceremony before spending the rest of the week also in Mexico on their honeymoon.
The House of Commons does not sit the week that Singh and Kaur were set to travel.
The couple has been dating for about a year now, and they have known each other for almost a decade, since 2010.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
